North Logan man arrested on suspicion of using ‘devil worship’ to manipulate teenager into sex – Cache Valley Daily

LOGAN – A 23-year-old man from North Logan has been arrested on suspicion of manipulating a 16-year-old girl into having sex with him allegedly using “devil-worshiping language”. Scott P. Ferree was held in the Cache County Jail Thursday afternoon.

According to an arrest report, in January, the mother of the alleged victim contacted the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, saying she was concerned about the text messages between her daughter and Ferree. She claimed that the suspect was manipulating his daughter into having sex.

The affidavit said, “(The mother) went on to say that (Ferree) used some type of devil worshiping language to manipulate (her daughter) into the alleged sexual acts.”

When questioned by lawmakers, the girl said Ferree asked her to listen to ‘Dev’ and said ‘Dev would text her and tell him what to do to Scott,’ details The report. She went on to reveal that she had been instructed by this Dev on numerous occasions that she had to ‘perform sex acts.

The girl explained to the police that she had been told that if she did not cooperate, she and her family would be cursed and that they would pay a very high price for not doing what was asked of her. . She said that out of fear for her safety and that of her family, she would follow the instructions provided by Dev. She said most of them will come via text, either Instagram and / or standard text.

MPs say Dev’s texting began shortly after Ferree allegedly raped the girl. The phone number was assigned to an internet-based number created in 2019 by the suspect, according to the arrest report.

A search of the girl’s phone revealed an extensive text stream between her and Dev that included graphic details, indicating where she was to meet Ferree, the sex acts she was to perform, and threats if she didn’t follow instructions. . They also asked her to send nude photos of herself to the suspect. The texts took place over a period of several months in the fall of 2020.

On March 8, Ferree was questioned by lawmakers and denied any sexual contact with the alleged victim. He claimed his phone was damaged because he dropped it and then put it in the water when he started smoking. “The phone had nine different typing marks on the front and back and the SIM card was melted,” according to the affidavit.

On Thursday, after questioning Ferree again and serving a search warrant at his home, he was taken into police custody. He was charged with two counts of rape, two counts of forced sodomy, four counts of seducing a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
